The Kofi Annan Foundation is supported by a team in Geneva, Switzerland.
Karine Azadian
Receptionist
Karine manages the reception and supports administrative tasks across the Foundation. Prior to taking up her role, Karine worked as receptionist at the headquarters of a major retailer in Geneva.
Fiona Bernard
Executive Secretary
Fiona is responsible for coordinating all travel arrangements and events abroad. Formerly, Fiona worked with the United Nations in Geneva.
Benedikt Franke
Programme Officer
Benedikt’s responsibilities include drafting, researching and providing support to the Foundation's activities. He is a fellow at the University of Oxford and worked previously for the German Ministry of Defense and the European Union Military Liaison Office to the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Abdelmadjid Haddad
Logistic and general support
Madjid supports the logistics and travel arrangements for Mr. Annan and the Foundation.
Kathryn Kirk
Secretary
Kathryn is responsible for all correspondence. Prior to taking up her position, she worked in languages in both business and education and is a qualified languages teacher.
Li Ling Low
Administrator
Li Ling manages the accounts and all personnel and administrative matters. Prior to joining the Foundation, Li Ling worked in auditing, accounting, finance and administration.
Ruth McCoy
Chief of Staff
Before undertaking her post at the Foundation, Ruth worked with a public policy organization in Malaysia, Kenya and London and went on to serve for 15 years with the United Nations. She was Special Assistant to the President of the UN General Assembly from 1995-1997, Programme Officer for Children and Armed Conflict in the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary General and later served in the Executive Office of the UN Secretary General. Ruth held a post in the Executive Office of the ILO in Geneva from 2000-2007.
Natalie McDonnell
Secretary
Natalie is responsible for Geneva based appointments, events and telephone calls. Natalie worked formerly in the Arts and as a Personal Assistant to a General Manager for a Multinational Company in Lyon.
Michael Møller
Executive Director
Prior to assuming this position, Michael served for 30 years with the United Nations. He was the Secretary General’s Special Representative for Cyprus from 2006 until 2008 and Director for Political, Peacekeeping, and Humanitarian Affairs in the Office of the Secretary-General from 2001 till 2006, serving concurrently as Deputy Chief of Staff for the last 2 years of that period. Between 1997 and 2001 he was the Chief of Staff in the Department for Political Affairs at UN Headquarters in New York. He served in different capacities in Iran, Mexico, Haiti and Geneva where he started his career in 1979 with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
Carlos Oliver Cruz
Programme Officer
Carlos’ responsibilities include drafting, researching and providing support to the Foundations’ activities. Prior to joining the Foundation, Carlos worked for Development Assistance Research Associates (DARA), the Club of Madrid and the Global Youth Action Network.
